Why don't tips show up on my credit card statement?

When I tip on my credit card I always round up to an even number, but on my credit card statement the original price of my meals is shown, not including the tips. Are these waiters/waitresses getting stiffed on my card? If not, why aren't the tips showing up on my statements? If you work in a restaurant or manage a restaurant this would be very helpful.
